SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting department of 2 support staff at Replacement Parts Industries (RPI) located in Simi Valley, CA, a Healthcare Components Group (HCG) company.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the Accounting function within RPI and coordinate with HCG's finance department
  • Work closely with Corporate Controller, VP of Finance, and department leads to achieve business goals and objectives
  • Prepare journal entries, including accruals and pre-payments
  • Perform account reconciliations in compliance to GAAP standards
  • Manage the Month End Closing process with accurate, timely, and transparent transaction recording
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting information to executive management
  • Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
  • Prepare and submit quarterly sales tax returns and submit monthly sales tax payments
  • Prepare and submit weekly payroll
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff to improve processes to better support the organization
  • Implement/lead process improvements within Syspro system
  • Support external audit
  • Maintain and improve the system of Internal Controls
  • Support physical inventory counts
  • Maintain standard costs and inventory valuation
  • Oversee IT infrastructure and phone system



EXPERIENCE/SKILL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience required with supervisory and management responsibilities
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (proficient in Excel) a must; Advanced data analysis preferred (pivot tables, formulas, SQL)
  • Experience in Crystal Reports and Syspro a plus
  • Experience in payroll processing a plus
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • Strong initiative
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Travel quarterly to Simi Valley, CA
