Product Development Engineer - Biomedical

The Product Development Engineer identifies opportunities for developing replacement parts by analyzing OEM products and their component parts, the needs of customers, and new segments within existing markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Development of new parts, including developing schedules for completion of new product development tasks, ensuring timely and economical completion of development projects.
• Analyze OEM products, their component parts, and product service requirements in existing and new markets in order to identify opportunities for the development of new or improved replacement parts. Develop product design specifications and complete all aspects of the development of new replacement parts.
• Maintain Product Development Plan and Status Report for own projects.
• Help to solve production or performance problems with existing parts.
• Provide technical support to customers as required. Take RMA calls for defective parts.
• Collaborate with all other departments as necessary in the completion of development and ongoing department activities.
• Reverse engineer parts assigned by Product Development Manager.
• Coordinate relevant activities with other departments within the organization.
• Maintain requirements of ISO9000 Quality Management System and make suggestions for change in system as appropriate.
• Represent Healthcare Components Group at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings as needed.
• Other tasks as needed as assigned

EXPERIENCE/SKILL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or Associates degree on biomedical equipment electronics/repair or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Hospital Medical Equipment Service.
• Experience working on sterilizers is a plus.
• Excellent phone and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read complex service manuals.
• Creative problem-solving abilities

• 10%
